Why do I train using the Maker's Diet?

I get this question all the time, and I give the same answer all the time. It gets results!!! I use it because I trust it and it worked for me and members of my family as well as my closest friends. I love to hear clients say " I feel better than ever" this happens usually with in a few weeks.
The feeling of energy along with doing some good with their diet makes them feel good both mentally and physically. But one of the hidden things abut the diet especially if you have read the book is, the spiritual content. This is the area that I would love to see more health in my clients all together. Because knowing God is the best thing in life! You will experience spiritual health from the book if you let it, and then in turn you will reap the benefits of a healthy diet later.

Another great thing about the diet is once you get to stage three you and make the commitment to healthy living from that point on you will lose more weight over time. It doesn't drop like crazy, its slow and steady but slow and steady weight loss is permanent weight loss.

Side effects to the diet are: YOU WILL increase energy, sleep better, be more focused and better know your body. You will also return you body back to perfect health. I have clients stop taking drugs for things like hyper tension, high blood pressure, hyper glycimia, and low blood sugar because they need them anymore.
This is what the diet does naturally, gets the chemicals out and allows your body to heal itself. All this from the Bible, who knew?
Turns out Jesus really DOES care about your life and wants to give it to you more abundantly.

Are You Buying Healthy Food, or Just the Image of Healthy Food?

If you are buying organic food – whether from your local supermarket or from one of these new organic lunch spots – thinking you’re getting something grown by a small “mom-and-pop” farm nestled in a green valley, then you are probably being deceived.

Many organic foods are now being produced by the giant corporations that make some of the most offensive junk food on the market. And with companies like Kraft, Pepsi, and General Mills now in the business of “organic,” is it any wonder that you can get organic soda, organic pizza, organic potato chips and just about any organic junk food you can think of?

These corporations are poster children for the power of an idea.

Many people are getting hooked on the idea that organic equals healthy, but don’t stop long enough to make a distinction between raw food and processed food, and to ask themselves this vital question: Are organic soda and organic potato chips REALLY healthy snack options?

The obvious answer is no. Organic versions of junk food are STILL just as detrimental to your health as their original counterparts.

The point I want to make here is simply that you still need to pay attention to what you eat, even if it’s from an “organic cafĂ©.” I’ve written about how to avoid the pitfalls of so-called healthy fast-food fares before.

One of the most important things you can do for your long-term health is to determine your nutritional type and eat accordingly. Giving your body the fuel it needs to operate at optimal efficiency can help you shed excess pounds, maintain a robust immune system, improve your health and your mental well-being.

After years of helping people implement nutritional typing into their lives and seeing the benefits first hand, I’m so convinced of its importance that I am now offering my nutritional typing test as part of my Inner Circle package at no extra charge so that you can see it for yourself.

10 Day cleanse

I know 2 posts in a row from Dr. Rubin but this is really important and you ned to consider it!
Perfect Weight America is sweeping the nation this year. This summer, however, provides an excellent opportunity for another kind of sweep—a clean sweep. That’s right; it’s a great time do some cleansing. During this season, there is an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, so it is easy to begin because there is so much produce!

We know, too, that habitual intake of a diet high in refined and highly processed foods can lead to accumulation of toxins, increased contact time, and irritation to the lining of the excretory system due to constipation and higher pressures developing inside the bowel. The longer toxins hang around your body, including inside your gut—the greater their potential for discomfort.

Even if you eat a healthier diet than the one described above, you still may encounter toxins; they are present everywhere in our environment. We drink eat, inhale, and produce toxins in small amounts—and no food is guaranteed 100 percent safe.

Sometimes foods we eat may contain untold numbers of agents that are not food: pesticides, additives, colorants, extraneous hormones, chemicals and heavy metals, not to mention prescription and non-prescription drugs—which our bodies, especially the liver, are forced to detoxify. Our elimination systems, especially our urine and stool, play a role in the toxin-cleansing process, too.

That’s why I make sure my digestive system gets a “clean sweep” four times a year. Granted, I eat healthier and live a healthier lifestyle than most people, but everyone carries some toxic load level—and I am not exempt. Some need to detoxify more than others, but everyone can benefit from a good cleansing!

I like to schedule a cleansing tune-up each quarter—for various reasons, including the necessity of periodic detoxification as well as following a logical, yearly schedule for doing so. If I plot it and plan for it, then it is easier to integrate into my lifestyle. (An added bonus is that each of the 10-day cleansings include a diet that makes sense for that particular season—including foods which are in-season and readily available; hot foods for colder weather; and cool foods for hotter weather!)

Here is an overview of my quarterly cleansing—with an emphasis on a summer cleanse, a 10-day fruit and veggie experience: During my 10-day seasonal cleanses, I eat five times a day, every two to three hours—generally around 7:30 a.m., followed by a second meal at 10:30 a.m., lunch at 1 p.m., a mid-afternoon meal at 3:30 p.m., and dinner at 6 p.m.

My Summer Cleanse: 10 Days of Delicious Fruits and Veggies

Day One
For my Summer Cleanse, the first day is a mono diet in which I eat the same fruit at each meal for the entire day, marked by five fruit servings (one or two cups of fruit for each serving). The best fruits for cleansing have a lot of water: watermelon, grapes, apples, and oranges. (Note: bananas don’t have nearly as much water.)

Days Two through Four
On Days 2-4, I eat four servings of fruit during the day, separated by two to three hours, followed by a healthy salad for dinner containing all the vegetables I can think of. Greens and sprouts are wonderful high-fiber foods, but I also add slices of cucumbers, carrots, red onion, cabbage, tomatoes, and celery. I then garnish my salad with half an avocado and add two tablespoons of a healthy raw salad dressing (or I make my own).

Days Five through Seven
On Days 5-7, I follow a similar pattern as days 2-4—except that I add raw nuts and seeds to my salad.

Days Eight through Ten
On Days 8-10, I eat one serving of fruit during the first two meals of the day. For my third and fourth meals, I eat one type of fruit and four ounces of whole milk plain yogurt or kefir and one tablespoon of honey.

I add raw cheese and fatty fish (like wild-caught salmon) to my salad meal. This makes a great transition back to my established healthy eating plan once my summer cleanse is over.

So, there you have it--a summer sweep that cleanses and refreshes you!

Grass Fed From Dr. Jordan Rubin

You will be glad to know that you don’t have to look at the “end of the digestive line” of grass-fed cows to know that their diet develops healthy cows and, consequently, healthy produce. Good news, right?

But let’s look at why grass-fed is superior. I believe that eating organic, grass-fed and pastured cuts of meat are far better for you than commercially-produced beef (or any other kind of meat for that matter). But what is grass-fed and how is it different from commercially-raised livestock?

The American Grassfed Association defines grass-fed products from ruminants, including cattle, bison, goats and sheep, as “those food products from animals that have eaten nothing but their mother’s milk and fresh grass or grass-type hay from birth to harvest – all their lives.”

And being raised grass-fed makes a difference in the produce. Grass-fed animal products are higher in beta carotene (Vitamin A) and other antioxidant vitamins, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and omega-3 fatty acids, which are important to healthy brain function, and in reducing the incidence of “bad” cholesterol, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure and other diseases.

In fact grass-fed animals produce meat products that contain two to four times the amount of omega-3 fatty acids found in a standard cut of meat. Additionally, the amounts of CLA in grass-fed meat are higher as well. (CLA is another good fat and grass-fed meats contain from three to five times more CLA than products from animals fed standard commercial diets.) The same is true for vitamin E levels in the grass-fed meat; it contains nearly four times the amount of vitamin E than meat that is commercially grown.

Additionally, grass-fed products are lower in unhealthy fats, cholesterol, and calories. In fact meat from grass-fed animals has only about one third the fat as a similar cut from a grain-fed animal.

Michael Pollan, author of an excellent book titled The Omnivore’s Dilemma says it’s not necessarily our food that’s making us sick, but what we feed our food. Here’s why: commercially raised livestock are raised on corn, pumped full of antibiotics, and fattened as fast as possible to get them to market quickly. Seventy-five years ago, steers were four or five years old when they were led into the slaughter house. The age fell to two or three years in the 1960s. Today, “production” cattle are fattened up in fourteen to sixteen months before being “delivered” into roasts, steaks, and hamburgers.

“A recent study in The European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that the meat of grass-fed livestock not only had substantially less fat than grain-fed meat but that the type of fats found in grass-fed meat were much healthier,” says Pollan. “A growing body of research suggests that many of the health problems associated with eating beef are really problems with corn-fed beef. In the same way ruminants have not evolved to eat grain, humans may not be well adapted to eating grain-fed animals.”

So, you see, grass-fed has much more to offer than commercially-raised livestock. And you don’t have to examine the “issue” further—if you know what I mean!

Alcohol Is Making You Fat!

One true inhibitor of weight loss and heath is alcohol. Because it is derived from wheat and yeast these things take a long time to digest and have no nutritional value, unless you brew it yourself. The carbs in the brew make it hard to lose weight when you are drinking it.
A previous study on alcohol consumption and breast cancer even found that postmenopausal women who drink more than half a glass of alcohol per day, and have low intakes of the B vitamin folate, are 60 percent more likely to develop breast cancer than those who do not drink alcohol and have the highest intake of folate.

Does that mean you could just eat more vegetables (high in folate) and be safe? While that would provide you with many health benefits, it will not protect you from the toxic effects of alcohol.

Alcohol is broken down in your body into a chemical called acetaldehyde, which, by the way, is the chemical responsible for hangover symptoms. When acetaldehyde reacts with the neurotransmitter dopamine, it can cause mental and emotional disturbances such as anxiety, depression, and poor concentration.

If you look up the toxicology of acetaldehyde, you'll find that it adversely affects many tissues and organs in your body, which may play a large part in increasing the risk of so many chronic diseases and cancers.

And remember, wine does count as alcohol. Most of the benefits from drinking wine are largely related to the polyphenolic bioflavonoids found in the grape skins and seeds. It is not the alcohol or the carbohydrate content that is helpful.

I cannot tell you not to drink but i will say, as with anything else. Moderation is key! And I don't mean one a day or a 6 pack on friday either. I mean one or two a week especially if you are trying to lose weight.

Get Moving

You may have heard it said that the morning is the best time to work out. Or that the evening is best for working out. Either way is good workout when you can just remember the quality of the workout is what make the difference. Taking time for each muscle group wearing them down vigorously.

Although a good carido workout is best in the morning before you eat. This way you will burn all the stored energy in the fat that you need to move. And make it count get out and do 30 minutes of a 3.5 mph walk or if you can handle it a 5 mph run.
Do it today and feel better tomorrow!

Artificial?

Why would you eat anything artificial? Well because we are told that it is safe even though it is the exact opposite. Your body doesn't know what to do with things that are not real. This is were some of our body fat comes, from stored none food. Your body will store anything that it does not recognize as a food source. This will put your body into starvation mode which is why we gain so much weight.

Fast food isn't really food at all, but why? Because it has preservatives in them along with pesticides and other chemicals used to process food then, we deep fry it in rancid oil. This is a no brainier, eat to live people I will say it again and again. You will naturally lose weight, not all of it, you will need to move the stored fat around to get it out. That is were the exercise comes in, this will speed up the process.

You need to make the first decision and it starts with the smallest things. Chewing gum!! Tick Tacks! Life Savers! When they say sugar free they really mean artificial sweeteners sometimes up to 4 different kinds. Think about it.

Know What is Slowing You Down

Its safe to say that America is a fat country with over 60% our body fat index numbers of 30% and higher. There are so many reasons for it as well, first one that nobody seems to realize. Sleep and rest that we need before and especially when we start a workout. It seems as though we busy ourselves with work to make up for being over weight or to make up for some other short fall altogether. This is difficult and dangerous for your bodies health and wellness. And this is just one piece of the puzzle there are so many others most of which you already know.

Diet is as important if not more important than exercise. IF you can learn what to eat and retrain yourself to eat whole healthy organic foods you will lose weight and feel better than you ever thought possible. It is amazing to me when people say I am not losing weight as fast as I would like but I feel better then ever after only 2 weeks. Remember slow weight loss is permanent weight loss. You will burn toxins from bad food first then the weight that it is stored in.

Well i feel like I am beating a dead horse so I will let you think about this for now and I will write you soon.

Delayed

Hey all, Sorry for the delay I hope there are still some readers still out there. I have been in Ohio helping with my wife and her grandma will she is in the hospital. She has lead a good life but one filled with bad choices and one filled with letting what a doctor said keep her down for so many years.
She is in critical condition and is on a breathing machine to help her stay alive. Want I want to tell you that relates to this is don't let your ailment get you down. Get up and live while there is life in you, if you are to tired or you have a muscle pain get up and work through it!
I have sympathy but I will never give up on life or the rush I get when I live it for the right reasons. Life is to short to make excuses get off your butt and move don't die sitting down. Make your life an example to everyone who ever wanted to live and be better than you are. Strive for perfection even if you will never reach it.

Until tomorrow....

Traveling?

Hello Again and sorry about the long delay between posts but I am currently out of town at a friends wedding. I am staying with family and it seems like I can't get through to them with the importance of the diet which my wife and two kids are on. That diet is of course the 3rd phase of the Makers Diet, most of you know that and are probably on it yourself.
We have been on this diet for about 5 years and we are constantly bombarded with questions about the way we eat. This is great but you can only ask so many questions in 5 years so the get repeated.

The good news is that my family is making some positive changes by drinking raw un-pasturized milk and grass fed free range chicken and eggs.
The reason I write about this today is the last time we where here we tried to be polite and eat what was given to us. Which is what is politically correct, well this method got me sick and I haven't been sick in years! The whole family my wife and my oldest son all of us got sick.
Why? Because is takes time to digest food the more poor the quality the longer it takes to digest. And if you have years of fat stored on your person then you compromise your immune system even more.
When you take energy away from your immune system then you will get sick its only a matter of time. Hence our family sickness the combination of being around a bunch of people and not eating to live we compromised our health then got sick.

So make sure if you are new to this diet you take extra precaution when going away. Take with you many of options for your body to maintain optimal health. We like to have plenty of cultured milk (kefir) and some whole food or green bars from garden of life. These 2 things plus our raw milk and plenty of digestive enzymes will encourage health and help you not to get sick.

Needles to say we made sure we had these items this time around and I am feeling great so is my family. So stay healthy even when you get to take a vacation or go out of town. DO it for yourself and do it for life!
